Sketchnotes

Creative Storytelling via Visual Note-taking

Sketchnotes are growing in popularity as a form of capturing and sharing information. They are especially popular at conferences, and we’re excited to place a spotlight on this growing trend that exists at the intersection of art and learning.

What Are Sketchnotes?

The Sketchnote Army describes sketchnotes as “purposeful doodling while listening to something interesting. Sketchnotes don’t require high drawing skills, but do require a skill to visually synthesize and summarize via shapes, connectors, and text. Sketchnotes are as much a method of note-taking as they are a form of creative expression.”

What’s Going on at DevLearn?

As part of our celebration of creativity at this year’s conference, we’re highlighting the creativity expressed via sketchnotes. We’re bringing in a professional sketchnote artist to capture key learnings from our keynotes and many other sessions, which will enable attendees to see these works of art come to life. You will also enjoy a growing gallery of sketchnote boards on display throughout the conference.

We encourage you to join in the fun and try sketchnoting for yourself. If you do, be sure to share your sketchnote with the community by adding the hashtag #DLSketchnote to your social media posts.
