Flipboard, the "personal social magazine" for reading Twitter and Facebook on an iPad, has been updated to answer a number of user requests and complaints from its initial launch.
This seemingly minor version 1.0.2 update brings a number of user-requested features, including the ability to add up to 21 sections to Flipboard (up from the launch limit of just nine), offline browsing, and automatic refreshing when new content is ready or when you get close to the last page of a section.
Page layouts are smarter, optimizing space for posts that do not contain any media or links to leave more room for posts that do. You can now retweet with a comment in addition to Twitter's official retweet feature, and launch time should be much faster.

I've loved using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign at work but was frustrated at the high cost of getting these top photo editing and design applications on my home computer. Paying several hundred dollars for software that I use for fun doesn't make sense. In my search for cheaper alternatives, I stumbled across free "open source" software.
