Second Life (SL) can be daunting, and inaccessible for many users in corporate settings. However, effective use of video from Second Life can help you create immersive learning simulations where learners do not need to access Second Life directly to benefit.
In this session you will learn how to use Second Life as a Web 2.0 e-Learning tool. You’ll learn how to record and edit metaverse video, add audio, and incorporate it into reusable Flash templates. You’ll learn to create a video script, choose video capture tools and make optimal settings for their use, make environmental settings for lighting, and use best practices for video and audio directing, editing, and importing video into Flash to create questions and branched scenarios. You’ll see a video walkthrough of all aspects, and it, as well as supporting materials, will be available for download to enable you to create your own Flash interaction. You’ll also have access to an in-world “sandbox,” so you can practice these skills for 30 days after the conference.
In this session, you will learn:
How to film in Second Life
How to create SL video for use in Flash
Video Editing Tips
Audio Editing Tips
How to create sample e-Learning interactions with SL video footage and branched scenarios
Audience: Intermediate Designers and Developers with intermediate-level Flash and Second Life skills.
