Mobile technologies are transforming the way we work, but are we harnessing their potential to transform the way employees learn? With the ubiquity of mobile devices, and improving internet and data capabilities, we cannot ignore the power of mobile devices as a platform for learning. New trends in technology, such as Web 2.0, social collaboration and networking, games and simulations, and location awareness, all have potential for mobile learning. But implementing m-Learning provides many challenges, such as designing for disparate platforms and devices, integration with the larger corporate learning infrastructure, security, and keeping ahead of rapidly changing technologies.
In this session, participants will discover how Qualcomm, a digital wireless technology company, is extending the reach of training outside the classroom, using a variety of mobile devices including cell phones, iPods, and e-Readers such as the Amazon Kindle. You’ll learn how Qualcomm uses mobile technology to deliver the learning resources employees need when they need them, and turn those “in between” and otherwise wasted moments into micro-learning experiences. Participants will leave this session with concrete suggestions for first steps to leverage the power of m-Learning in their organization.
In this session, you will learn:- What m-Learning is, and the challenges of implementation
- What the key factors for successful development of m-Learning are
- What the new Web 2.0 trends in mobile learning are
- How you could use m-Learning in your organization
