P10 Developing a Micro-performance Support Solution

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Tuesday, June 7

308

Organizations are realizing that learning in the workflow is the most effective means of improving worker performance. These organizations are looking to their learning and development teams to plan and implement this new strategy. The challenge now is for training and development professionals to develop the skill set needed for training in this new performance paradigm.

In this workshop, you will complete the process of creating a learning and performance support solution. You will learn the principles that must be applied when designing performance support solutions and practice these skills with a small group while producing a learning and performance plan that addresses the five moments of learning need. You will learn to develop a performance support scope objective and how to analyze, design, and produce a performance support solution. You will also learn how to blend the performance support plan with a formal learning event. By the end of the workshop you will be able to take the skills you have learned and apply them to a roadmap for using performance support in your workplace.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to explain to your co-workers how a performance support approach can add value to your organization
  • How to follow performance support analysis and design principles to develop a PS solution
  • To blend performance support solutions with formal learning experiences
  • To outline a road map for how to use performance support in your workplace

Audience:
Novice and intermediate designers, developers, project managers, and managers.

Technology discussed in this session:
Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.

Participant technology requirements:
Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat (trial version is okay). A laptop is not required for this session, but will facilitate the development of the PS solution within the small group.
