P14 Leveraging Mobile to Create Comprehensive Training Solutions

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Tuesday, June 7

303/304

Traditional training methods have failed to meet the needs of organizations. In the olden, pre-mobile days, instructors or computers delivered training sessions that were too long, too disconnected from the workplace, and that provided no post-training reinforcement. Traditional training also provides no easy way to measure the effect of training within the workplace. The good news is that the mobile revolution changes everything.

In this workshop, you will learn to leverage mobile technologies to develop a modern and highly effective training program. You will see how mobile technologies—many of which are free—will allow you to: conduct skill-gap assessments; deliver video bursts—interactive experiences that focus on no more than three ideas; provide learners with post-training boosts that reinforce memory and promote social learning; and conduct assessments which allow you to measure organizational benefits. The workshop will include case studies where these programs have been used successfully by some of America’s greatest large and small companies.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to develop mobile ready, interactive videos that convey essential messages to your audience
  • How to author and schedule post-training experiences that are delivered via mobile technology and which support quizzing, coaching, and social interactions
  • How to use mobile technologies to deploy skill-gap assessments that identify the specific needs of every learner
  • How to use existing mobile technologies to collect Kirkpatrick levels 2, 3, and 4—data measuring the value of your training program

Audience:
Novice and intermediate designers, developers, project managers, managers, directors, VPs, and executives.
