DevLearn 2011 Conference - November 4, 2011

Allan Harris

Senior Project Manager
Wells Fargo Bank

Many of us are familiar with the ADDIE process to create training content that meets specific learning objectives. However, many of us miss the mark when it comes to delivering a comprehensive learning project to our internal stakeholders and business partners. By incorporating standard project management techniques and methodologies, we can augment the ADDIE process to deliver a comprehensive training solution that not only meets our learning objectives, but also meets the needs of everyone involved, including the business, stakeholders, partners, and learners. Project Management is more than a Gantt chart. Project Management considers multiple needs and organizes a process for delivering results; it can be an invaluable tool to help your projects succeed.

Participants in this session will learn fundamental project management processes that you can add to your workflow today to help ensure your projects are a success. Project Management means more than making a schedule. You’ll learn how to consider budget, quality, risk, communications, and much more when managing a training project.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to capture stakeholder expectations
  • How to build a communication plan
  • How to incorporate quality control in your projects
  • How to create a budget you can meet
  • How build a successful project team
Audience: Intermediate designers, developers, team leaders, managers, and executives who are familiar with the ADDIE process.
