B.Y.O.L.® (Bring Your Own Laptop®) sessions ensure that you receive in-depth, hands-on training, and while following along with the instructor step-by-step.

We live and work in a visual society where the professionalism of our content is often judged by how it looks. With shrinking budgets, it may fall upon you to do some of the graphic work for your project. It doesn’t matter if it’s for eLearning, mLearning, or the brochure to promote your course, graphics are going to be needed. The de facto image editing software standard is Photoshop. The new tools found in Photoshop are powerful, and learning about all these features can be daunting.

In this session, participants will get some quick tips on building stunning graphics to help images pop out. This hands-on workshop will include step-by-step instructions that demonstrate the application of multiple filters to radically change the look of your graphics. You will also learn about creating 3-D graphics using Photoshop’s 3-D panel. This workshop will significantly reduce the learning curve with some of Photoshop’s new features. With the tricks covered in the workshop, participants can create stunning graphics that can be used in a variety of screen and print applications.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to access numerous filters
  • How to configure filters through the appropriate dialog box
  • How to create a predetermined 3-D shape
  • How to apply a material to a 3-D object
  • How to light a 3-D object to give it a unique look
  • How to alter and correct images using a number of manipulating tools

Audience:
Novice and intermediate designers, developers, and SMEs who are visually literate and familiar with Photoshop’s interface.

Technology discussed in this session:
Photoshop CS6.

BYOL Student Technology Needs:
A laptop (Mac or PC) loaded with Photoshop CS6 (trial version is okay).
