With new technologies and devices coming on the market on a regular basis, keeping content up to date is a major challenge for eLearning professionals. Making sure that graphics, audio, interactive content, and video make use of the newest features is imperative to keep your product competitive. Learners are increasingly demanding in terms of their expectations for content delivery, speed, quality, and above all, they expect their eLearning courses to be fully functional with whichever platform or device that they are using.

In this session, you will learn about the creation and adoption of a process and policy to maintain the relevance of products. This process included creating a set of standardized formats in which to produce the content; providing a method to quickly and efficiently update existing content to accommodate the changing user environment; and improving the quality of the product with proper end-user testing. The result is a method for production teams to quickly optimize content by having access to a just-in-time knowledge pool that is constantly monitored and updated. This knowledge pool not only contains job aids, templates, and settings, but also a curated list of updated resources about the latest trends in the field and an opportunity for employees to share their experiences with new products and technologies. This session will showcase the results of this project, including obstacles encountered during development and how they were overcome.

In this session, you will learn:

  • Responsive design and media queries
  • Ways of encoding and exporting media
  • Choosing the right tool for your project
  • Emerging technologies on the web
  • The importance of R&D in order to stay current
