eLearning is hard enough to do well, but it gets worse when you’re hampered by misinformation. There is a lot of information out there that suggests various design principles based upon claims around how people act and learn: learning styles, generational differences, and more. Is there any “there” there? 

In this lively MythBusters-style session, we will investigate the claims. The presenters will describe the claims, investigate the rationale, review the research, and conclude with just what you can and should believe. Moreover, they will also cover what you should do instead if the myths are busted.

In this session, you will learn:

  • Learning-styles instruments: what’s valid
  • Adapting to learning styles: what works
  • Generational differences: what’s real
  • Digital natives: the truth and the dirt

Audience:
Novice and intermediate designers, project managers, and managers with an awareness of learning design principles.
