Designing Performance Support Content
Performance Support Symposium 2014 - September 8, 2014
Chief Learning Strategist
Many organizations are eager to implement performance-support solutions, but hit a roadblock in execution: their content. Unlike traditional training methods, performance support does not require an employee to stop work to learn since the support is embedded into the work and provided at the time it is needed—while an individual is performing a task. Performance support approaches are very different than traditional training methods, and therefore require a different approach when designing content.
In this session you will learn the important aspects of well-designed performance-support content. You will explore what makes performance support unique, and how those unique traits should be represented in your content design. You will examine examples of content designed for performance support, and analyze the decisions made to tailor the content for delivery via performance-support tools. You will leave this session better prepared to design content that is appropriate for performance-support strategies.
