B.Y.O.L.: Facilitating Hands-on Systems Training in Adobe Connect
Learning Solutions Conference & Expo 2015 - March 26, 2015
Director of Automated Financial Processes, Training and Communication
Manager, Financial Systems Training
Sr. Instructional Technologist
How can training departments provide just-in-time systems training in a way that resonates with the people who work in remote locations? Feedback from our trainees was clear; these folks like live training, and they want to leave training with their questions answered. Self-paced eLearning enables users to complete scenario-based simulations, but they aren’t hosted by a live presenter, and there is no way for users to ask questions in real time.
In this hands-on session you will learn how we solved this problem via virtual training with Adobe Connect. You will explore the setup for our sessions—we don’t call them classes—including a number of specialty layouts that are organized in a unique way using high quality graphics and video. You will learn how Captivate simulations serve as the heart of these interactive sessions. You will leave this session understanding how to implement this approach in your own organization.
In this session, you will learn:
- How a lobby can imprint your training message
- Tips and tricks for deploying Captivate simulations
- High-impact ways to enhance your virtual classroom
- Ways to deploy course content to optimize user’s load times
Novice to advanced designers, developers, and virtual facilitators familiar with Adobe Captivate.
discussed in this session:
Connect is device agnostic, but participants will learn how to deploy software simulations. To get a feel for them, participants will need a computer with a keyboard.
