New technology can be intimidating, and augmented reality seems difficult, time-consuming, and expensive. If only you could incorporate AR into your existing and future training in an easy and effective way. Where do you start?
In this workshop, you will look at the process for incorporating AR into your training and development. You will explore free and easy programs to develop AR for your projects. You will also learn where and when to incorporate multimedia and text elements into your training materials. Finally, you will construct multiple AR projects that you can use to kick-start ideas and projects back at your organization.
In this session, you will learn:
- How to use free software to create AR elements
- When using an AR element makes the most sense in your projects
- How to create multiple AR projects to take back to your organization
- Which types of multimedia can be incorporated into AR
- An AR creation process to use in future projects

He is always exploring useful and effective ways to incorporate technology into learning and development. With over 12 years in the training and development industry, Destery’s main areas of focus are learning technology integration, instructional design, and augmented reality solutions.

Mark Banit is a learning solutions architect at ivari, a Canadian life insurance provider. With a background in multimedia design, Mark has been creating engaging digital learning experiences for over 14 years. Prior to moving into corporate learning and development, he spent 10 years working in the higher education sector creating interactive online learning, providing consulting, and training other developers. In his current role Mark leverages technology and multimedia to develop corporate training initiatives, designs promotional learning campaigns, and is the LMS technical administrator.
