Senior Instructional Designer, eLearning
Senior Consultant/Instructional Designer
Despite recent advances in mobile technology, not every organization is ready to jump on the mLearning bandwagon right away. For example, an organization might be planning an enterprise-wide transition to mLearning by 2014, but still wants its training department to create high-impact eLearning programs for delivery in 2013. Because effective approaches to mLearning differ from that of traditional eLearning, organizations and their training departments need a new strategy. During this time of pending transition, organizations will still require traditional eLearning, but it is important for instructional designers to start planning for mobile to make that transition faster, smoother, and more cost-effective. How can training and development professionals continue to design high-quality desktop content for today, but easily transfer that content to mobile in the future?
Participants in this session will explore practical design and technical considerations for designing eLearning programs today with the intent to transition to mLearning in the next 12–18 months.
In this session, you will learn:
- Key differences between designing for eLearning versus mLearning
- Technical and design considerations to make the transition to mobile smoother, faster and more cost-effective
- Tips for optimizing the learner/user experience before and after the transition to mobile
