Studying for professional exams can be a daunting task for visual learners. In the financial-services industry, our text-heavy study materials are frequently dry and difficult to understand, and learning retention is problematic. How can we better support the subset of adult learners who need more visual content to help them understand complex information? Furthermore, how can we better support those learners spread out over multiple locations?

Participants in this session will learn three ways to create compelling online content for adult visual learners. Using a case-study methodology, you’ll explore incorporating interactivity, usability, and visual impact into your eLearning materials. You’ll examine Janney Montgomery Scott’s process for developing interactive supplemental learning materials that appeal to visual learners. Contained in a self-directed website, Janney’s Flash-based videos, cheat sheets, and flashcards help their visual learners retain more information; by following Janney’s step-by-step development methodology, you can help your visual learners, too.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to incorporate more visual impact into your eLearning materials
  • How to make your eLearning materials more interactive
  • How to account for learner experience and eLearning navigation
  • A design and development methodology for turning dry content into compelling eLearning materials
