Operations Visualization and Content Manager
Due to language and education differences across operating areas, global organizations often struggle to achieve the necessary skills transfer to workers. In every business, insufficient worker skills can reduce reliability and performance; in high-hazard industries such as offshore drilling, insufficient skills can result in loss of life and major environmental damage. Visuals can be a good solution for a varied audience, but using visuals in learning can raise many questions. Will it work? How do I start? Can't I just rely on clip art? Is this approach right for my audience?
Participants in this session will examine real case examples on how Transocean used visual elements to address gaps in worker skills and knowledge. Through these examples, you’ll explore: how to determine the appropriate visual content, whether to use internal or vendor development, how to choose appropriate hardware and software, ways to gain internal support for this approach, and how to implement the learning product at the work site.
In this session, you will learn:
- How to determine the “appropriate” graphic elements for your audience
- How to develop or get graphics developed
- When to use animation versus stills
- When to use visual interactivity
- What tools you can use
