Senior Manager of Instructional Systems Design
Your course users expect a compelling learning experience that is ideally designed to mimic their most impressive instructor-led training course, but can this even be achieved in an eLearning delivery mode? A wish for many designers and developers is a comprehensive checklist that can lead them across the finish line in their quest to immediately grab the learner’s attention through eLearning and then somehow enhance learner retention and knowledge transfer back on the job.
In this session, you will learn how you can leverage and reshape the classic model, Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction, as a comprehensive checklist for thorough eLearning experience design. You will explore and break down media-rich course examples from AICPA to connect and map the eLearning experience components to this classic checklist for effective learning from start to finish. You will receive a helpful job aid and practical guidance from real course examples, which you can apply to the design approach of your next eLearning project to transcend the traditional concept of designing instructional material to designing meaningful comprehensive learning experiences from start to finish.
In this session, you will learn:
- Best practices for comprehensive experience design in eLearning
- How to leverage effective learning models as a checklist for maximum impact
- How and when to integrate rich media elements for learner engagement
- Strategies for enhancing learner retention using proven methods of effective course design
Novice and intermediate designers, developers, and managers with basic eLearning and instructional design knowledge.
