Salvaging Authorware Content

Thursday April 17, 2008 10:00 AM

Patrick Glynn, Parrotworks

Adobe recently announced that it is discontinuing development of Authorware software, leaving companies with decades of programming scrabbling for a solution. Many large companies have invested in Authorware in the past, as have providers of e-Learning who use Authorware to create programs for their customers. Their content is lost, unless they find a way to convert to another product.

Participants in this session will discuss, and see demonstrations of, various methods for getting content from Authorware to Flash, and to other Web-based formats. You will learn the benefits and drawbacks of each.

In this session, you will learn:
  • A variety of ways to export content from Authorware

  • Methodologies for importing content into Flash

  • The pros and cons of selecting an approach

  • A future analysis of the Authorware product
Audience:
Intermediate Developers, Project managers, Managers, Directors, VPs, CLOs, and Executives who have a basic familiarity with Authorware.
